Campbell River & Dist. Labour Council
The Campbell River, Courtenay and District Labour Council represents trade union workers from Union Bay to Sayward. We represent forestry workers, postal workers, childcare workers, teachers, Hydro workers. You name it and if they are unionized , they are on the Labour Council.
Besides meeting monthly to decide on policies and actions we support a number of important organizations and activities such as the World Community Film Fest, Mayworks, Miner's Memorial, United Way and more. So we really are part of this community.
As members of unions we feel we are often unfairly represented by the mainstream media and unfortunately misunderstood by many members of the public, including other activists.
We feel that this website, as part of the community that TideChange is attempting to build here, will help others understand what we are about. After all 'What we desire for ourselves we desire for all.'
