****2010 MAYWORKS
May comes rolling around and so does another Mayworks Festival. What do we have lined up this year?
The wonderful Seattle Labor Chorus will be here for the May 1st Cumberland Bean Dinner, a benefit for the Cumberland Museum. Tickets are only $13 for both Flo's magic baked beans and a magical musical experience. The Chorus will be singing in the United Church after the dinner, and also the next afternoon on Denman Island.
Two other special treats will be the ArtKart Derby in Cumberland May 22 and Bill Freisen Sculpture Garden opening on the 23. Avery big weekend!
Of course we will have both 'Women and Work'
, and 'Words and Songs' back this year.
Finally a renowned agitprop muralist from the States Mike Alewitz will be coming at the end of the month to conduct a workshop on banner making and murals.
